Meet the team

Stewart Russell – Head PGA Professional
A former Assistant to the late Billy McCondichie, Stewart completed his PGA Qualification under Billy’s guidance at Hilton Park Golf Club in 1994.

Having moved on briefly to Greenock Golf Club, before taking up the role as Head PGA Professional at The East Renfrewshire Golf Club where he still resides, Stewart has gone full circle by returning to Hilton Park in the Spring of 2017 to take over the Professional Shop.

Stewart is heavily involved in the provision of a wide range of excellent services to the Club as well as members, guests and visitors, including an outstanding retail outlet and repairs service.

Stuart Smith – PGA Professional Shop Manager & Director of Coaching
Having gained his PGA Qualification with Merit in 2001 during his time as an Assistant at Lee Westwood’s home club of Worksop Golf Club in England, Stuart moved north to Scotland in 2002 for a brief stint as Head PGA Professional at Powfoot Golf Club in Dumfries and Galloway, followed by almost five years as Head PGA Professional at Brunston Castle Golf Club, South Ayrshire.

Still residing in Ayrshire to this day, Stuart left his role as PGA Teaching Professional at Great Western Golf (formally World of Golf) after seven years in the summer of 2017 to take up the role here as PGA Professional Shop Manager and Director of Coaching. Stuart brings with him an unbelievable work ethic, coupled with great experience and knowledge in club duties, retail and coaching to ensure that the members, guests and visitors of Hilton Park Golf Club receive first class levels of service and guidance week in, week out.

The unique model of two PGA Professionals with a combined experience of over 50 years’ having direct involvement in a host of club matters will undoubtedly benefit the golf club as a whole in years to come, as the relationship develops and flourishes.
